Pre-assembled, water pressure-tight, can be reused several times
Polypropylene PP, not easily flammable in accordance with DIN 4102/B1
Dummy tube plugs are used with Wolf cable/duct sealing cushions, where the minimum occupancy diameter is not reached, or to fill any unconfigured compartments when sealing and spacer inserts are utilised.
Dummy tube plugs can be used as placeholders for future cable retrofitting. This helps reduce the relatively high cost of excavation (which constitutes 70-80% of the total sum incurred in route construction) and enhances flexibility when planning the future uses of cable ducts in the areas of civil and structural engineering.
The Wolf valved sealing systems can be inflated four times and the Wolf SSB/ ZKSB Sealing Bag systems can be inflated twice. The dummy tube plugs are similarly reusable, and, like the Wolf sealing systems, are quick and simple to install and remove.
To retrofit: deflate the sealing cushion following the instructions provided, then either press the sealing cushion against the casing pipe or remove it completely. Take out the dummy tube plug and install the required cables or ducts. Reinflate the sealing cushion with compressed air, in accordance with the instructions provided.
1 PP-H tube with plug-in sleeve, length 250 mm
Material: polypropylene PP, not easily flammable,
in accordance with DIN 4102/B1
Colour: dusty grey RAL A037
2 Socket plug, waterproof-bonded to the
PP-H tube (3 m) by means of permanently
elastic sealing compound (Art. No. 29.2 U-ADMF)
3 EPDM cellular rubber coating material
Art. No. 24.2 ZK-DBK 3.0 x 135 mm (thickness x width)
The dummy tube plugs can be used as placeholders in the water pressure-tight sealing of cable ducts and service entries made of concrete, metal or plastic, vertical or horizontal, configured with tele-communication cables (optical/electrical); power cables (with a short-circuit temperature of +90 °C) and/or outer casing pipes utilised in supplying energy and district heating, as well as for thermal, hydraulic and electrical engineering.
To achieve a 3-metre water pressure-tight seal, the dummy tube plugs must be integrated in the seal with the closed end (with lid) facing towards the inside of the duct that is to be sealed.
If three-compartment sealing and spacer inserts Art. No. 22.9 QV-ADS-3K are being used in a cable duct, dummy tube plugs must be used to fill any unoccupied compartments. (See diagram below.)
